Job Description

Job Title:  Maintenance Team Member

Age Requirements:   17 years or older
Reports to:                 Primarily Dr. Hipke but also the Office Team Members. 

Type of Position:        Part Time          ~2 Hours a day Monday through Friday  or similar total hours per week as approved by Dr. Hipke          No work required on days the clinic is closed. 

Compensation:          $9.00 / hour with no overtime.          Mileage paid for use of personal vehicle.          Pay periods are every two weeks.         W-4 required to be signed for appropriate withholding. 

General Description:    Create an inviting, orderly and clean working environment for patients, families, visitors and Team Members.

Grounds Maintenance o   Cut grass and trim edges with heavy duty string trimmer o   Use heavy duty blower and pick up leaves / debris o   Pull Weeds o   Manually trim hedges o   Water outside plants o   Pick up trash and debris o   Inspect outside grounds and building to detect any problems.

Inside the Building o   Clean inside floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. o   Clean / Dust / Polish furniture, fixutres, walls, machines, and equipment. o   Service, clean, and supply restrooms. o   Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. o   Gather and empty trash. o   Organize office / files / cabinets as directed by Dr. Hipke o   Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. o   Replace light bulbs o   Deep clean inside of office o   Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. o

Minor repairs

Monitor inside and outside building security and safety    Watch for any potential hazards to Team Members / Patients / Families / Visitors. o   Monitor equipment for problems o   Notify Dr. Hipke of any concerns ·

Spray home-strength insecticides inside and out to prevent insect infestation.

Cross-train on the phone to allow other Team Members to have a break.

Write supplies, refills and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties on the white board in the storeroom. 

Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables and chairs to prepare office for events such as holidays. ·         Run errands for Dr. Hipke.

Other projects as designated by Dr. Hipke.

Education Requirements: ·         Currently completing High School with passing grades or High School Graduate. ·         Unrestricted Driver’s License with clean driving history 

Work Experience: ·         General Knowledge of Computers ·         General Knowledge of Yard Maintenance Machinery

Physical Requirements:         Keen eye for detail.  Will be tested at interview. ·         Climb a 6 foot ladder safely. ·         Use heavy duty yard maintenance string trimmers and blowers ·         Ability to lift 30 pounds overhead with both hands. ·         Ability to move heavy furniture with good body mechanics ·         Ability to squat and / or work bending forward for >30 minutes at a time ·         Tolerant to routine cleaning and insecticide chemicals. ·         Use simple hand tools and manual hedge trimmers.

Equipment Needed: ·         Dr. Hipke will supply eye protection. ·         Team Member supplies suitable clothing and hearing protection and work gloves. ·         Team Member will need an insured vehicle for errands on some days.  

Accountability: ·         Job Description will be used in Team Member evaluations. ·         Dr. Hipke will routinely inspect completed work to provide feedback. ·         Team Member may NOT use personal phone / internet during work hours. ·         Visiting by friends / family will be restricted during working hours ·         Hold strict confidentiality of who is seen / what is seen at the office.
